Why should I get a wedding film?

Ask anyone who didn’t get a wedding film and they’re likely to tell you it’s one of their biggest regrets. We’re speaking from experience here — we thought we didn’t need one and we wish we could go back and change our minds. For years, bridal magazines and websites listed “Not having a videographer” at the TOP of the list of regrets brides have after the big day passes. The reason? A wedding video captures the voices, the laughs, the speeches, the dances and special moments of not only the bride and groom, but of all the guests in a way that still photos and cell phone clips never could. Ask anyone who’s been married- your wedding day can pass by in a blur of faces, happy tears, hugs and kisses and glasses of champagne! Rarely do couples get to soak in all the special moments as they happen, so you’ll definitely need a second look at your special day. With a wedding film, your memories of once-in-lifetime moments with precious grandparents, children and others are captured forever LIVE as they celebrate with you! Priceless! 

What is a highlight film and how do you decide what to include?

A highlight film showcases all the best and most important moments of your wedding day. This is the film you can show to all your friends and family, post to social media and even pass along to a loved one who wasn’t able to be there to celebrate with you. From the preparations (hair and make-up, the sharing of gifts and letters, first looks, etc.) through the ceremony, photos and reception, all the way to the end of the night when the dance floor starts to wane, we’ll include all the most special moments of your big day in your highlight film. While you will also receive edited versions of your full ceremony and toasts, it’s the highlight film that everyone will be dying to see! We offer two options; a 4-6 minute version and an 8-10 minute extended version.

How many videographers are included in each package?

Every package we offer includes up to two videographers for your wedding. We’ll work with you to determine the timeline for your wedding day and arrange for coverage with a second videographer for the most important parts. There is no additional cost for a second videographer.

How many hours of coverage does each package include?

As many as you want! You spend so much time planning your wedding and making sure everything is perfect, the last thing you should be doing is looking at the clock and wondering if you’ll be able to fit everything into our schedule. When you book with Ricordi Productions, you book us for the entire date, beginning to end. Mimosas in the morning? Check. Sparkler sendoff? Check. We’ll never add additional fees to start early or stay late.

How long will it take to edit my wedding film?

Shooting weddings is so much fun for us because we love being a part of the happiest day of your lives! The editing side of things is a little more time-consuming because we focus on honing every detail of footage to ensure that your video turns our perfectly. Because we are so meticulous about how we portray your big day, we promise to have your wedding film delivered to you in 6-8 weeks. 

How will I receive my wedding film?

We deliver your wedding film two ways: the highlight film is posted online and we’ll send you the link to post and share it yourselves, and we put the highlight film, ceremony, toasts and more (depending on your wedding package) on flash drives and send those to you. The videos on the flash drive include 4K and HD versions and are formatted to work with most smart TVs and connected devices. Just plug them in and watch your film on your big screen!

What does the full edit of the ceremony mean?

We use three to four cameras and at least three microphones to capture every angle and every word of your ceremony. This allows us to mix and match camera angles and microphones to give you crystal clear close-ups of all the important parts – your vows, readings, ring exchange, first kiss and more. With our wedding videos, you get to see yourself get married from your own point of view AND you get to see it from your guest’s view — from start to finish!

Can I customize my videography package?

Of course! While we have a full range of packages that offer something for everyone, we are happy to entertain special requests. If something about the day is really important to you, we will work with you to include it to the best of our ability. 

Can I get ALL of the video you shoot of my wedding day?

While we do offer to send you all of the raw video we shoot throughout the course of the entire day for an additional price, we do caution that it may not be as exciting to watch- the highlight film is called a highlight for a reason! We typically wind up with about 8-10 hours worth of raw footage, and while that includes things like your ceremony and first dance, it also includes the sign at the church, flowers as they blow in the breeze, the outside of your venue and more. While those things are important pieces to capture, they’re not the most exciting to watch. We’re happy to do that for you – to pick out the best parts to include in the highlight film. But if you’re the nostalgic type and you want to see every moment start to finish, we are happy to oblige. 

How do you choose the music for wedding films?

Since we focus on narrative-driven stories, we pick music that compliments your day. You may have seen other videos that feature a couple’s wedding set to a popular song, and while there’s nothing wrong with that, it’s not our style. We’re not making a music video of your wedding, we’re telling your unique story! We use a number of music licensing services to purchase the rights to all the music in our wedding films. This gives all of us (our couples included!) the peace of mind to know that we’re not illegally using copyrighted music – which means we won’t get asked to take a wedding film offline and more importantly, aren’t sued.
